About the Election

The next scheduled General Election for the Town of Westlake will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024. Notice of polling places will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. (See Tarrant County Elections Listing) Denton County voters will vote at the Tarrant County voting locations, through a joint election contract. The purpose of the election is to elect a Mayor and two Council Members to serve two-year terms.  

Eligibility Requirements

  • Be a U.S. Citizen
  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Not been convicted of a felony
  • Reside in State and in Town for 12 months
  • Be a registered voter in the county you are running for office in
  • Pass a criminal background check for the School Board of Trustee position

Application

In accordance with state law, the Town Secretary's Office will accept applications from qualified persons interested in running for an elected office during the filing period.     

Filing Period

May 4, 2024 General Election
First day to file an application for a place on the ballot. January 17, 2024
Last day to file an application for a place on the ballot. February 16, 2024


During the filing period, qualified persons may submit completed and notarized applications between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, at the Town Secretary's Office at Westlake Town Hall, 1500 Solana Boulevard, Building 7, Suite 7200. Applications will not be accepted after 3:30 PM on February 16, 2024.
