If you're a Westlake resident and are interested in learning more about Keller PD, you'll have the opportunity beginning this February. The department's next Citizens Police Academy class, which serves as a pre-requisite for joining the Volunteers in Police Services (VIPS) unit, kicks off Tuesday, February 1, and runs from 6:30-9:30 p.m. every Tuesday for 11 weeks at KPD headquarters, 330 Rufe Snow Drive.

Applicants must be 21 years of age or older, living or working within the Keller or Westlake city limits, and have no felony arrests on their record nor any arrest records in the past five years. The deadline to apply is 4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 24; once the 2022 class fills, applicants will be placed on a waiting list and be the first notified of registration for the next year's course.
